Dot Asia Domains
Dot Asia is the exciting new top level domain designed for the asia
pacific region. As of March 26th 2008, the .ASIA registry opened for
live registrations, and PlanetDomain is now accepting registration
applications in real-time.
The pre-registation period including the sunrise and landrush periods
yielded over 500,000 applications for .ASIA domains, indicating the
massive demand for this hot new extension.
Customers can now submit domain registrations for .ASIA domains for
between 1-10 years via our website today.
About landrush pre-registration applications
The .ASIA landrush ended on 20th Feb 2008.
Single domain applications have already been allocated to customer's
accounts, and affected customers have been emailed with confirmation of
registration. A single application domain is where you were the sole
applicant for the domain, and nobody else attempted to register the name
during the sunrise or landrush periods.
The Auction
Domains where there were multiple applications for a single name are
subject to Auction. These domains will be auctioned via pool.com.

The DotAsia Registry has advised that the Auctions will begin in
Early-Mid April 2008, and are expected to run until June 2008.
Due to some customers applying for multiple domains, Pool have
attempted to schedule the auctions to minimise customers encountering
several simultaneous auctions running at once.
Pool will notify customers 7 days prior to the beginning of an
auction, which will begin on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
Efforts have been made to adjust auction start schedules to avoid
conflicts with holidays.
Due to the volume of registrations accepted in the Landrush period
(over 500,000), the auctions are expected to run from April until June
2008.
If a domain is flagged for auction because it was applied for during
the landrush period, it is not possible for that name to be registered
after landrush.
